Vocal Empowerment
The voice is a natural resource for healing and self actualization. As kids, we instinctively use the voice as a tool for expression, discovery, problem solving, emotional regulation, play, and connection. As we grow up, it’s common for folks to start treating the voice as one fixed note rather than as a rich instrument that can continue to be developed, explored and utilized.
Do you yearn to feel free and confident in your vocal expression? Do sometimes feel that you “lose your voice” in certain environments? Are you craving tools for vocal playfulness, and a more personal relationship with your vocal creativity? Have you been told that you "can't sing," and experience fear in trying at all?
Vocal Empowerment is an embodied and holistic process of claiming the truth, resonance and power of your voice. You will be guided through fun vocal games, somatic exercises, song explorations, and/or public speaking exercises that will support you in moving beyond limitations and blockages into confidence and ownership.
Why is vocal work important?
Practicing Vocal Empowerment not only helps with vocal confidence, but confidence in general. Why? Because your voice is your body and your belief systems. Your voice is not just your vocal cords or the sounds they can make - it’s your body language, your presence, your emotions and thoughts which bring meaning to your words and sounds, it’s your nervous system, it’s your history.
When we work with the voice we are working holistically to empower our embodied sense of self.

When focusing on empowering the voice, one part is about your physical instrument and the other part is about your emotional and psychological relationship with vocal expression. I focus on the voice as a holistic system - meaning that your body is your instrument, not just your vocal cords. Sessions will always include vocal and physical exercises/warmups. Depending on your goals and needs, sessions may include singing exercises, role play, vocal toning, somatic movement, theatrical games, or psycho-somatic reflection.

Currently all sessions are held over Zoom.
