Embodied Arts Retreat

July 5th-11th, 2026 | Oldcastle, Co. Meath, Ireland

A 6-day women’s immersion into performing arts and embodiment.
An opportunity to play, expand, and nurture your creativity from the inside out.

Ready for a playground of embodied creativity
held by the fields of Ireland? Us too!

  • a container for creative discovery

  • a space to listen inward and re-inhabit your body

  • a reclaiming of play as a practice

  • an opportunity to experiment with various performing arts mediums

  • a call to reconnect with the rhythms of the natural world, and the rhythms within you

This will be…

Once upon a time in Ireland…

12 women from all walks of life converged for 6 days and 6 nights.

They were summoned by a mystical band of fantastical creatures for one purpose: to reawaken their inner artist, because their joy, creative bravery, and wildest imagination depended on it!

It would be a journey filled with embodied enrichment, theatrical whimsy, vocal alchemy, soul storytelling, nature bathing, absurd silliness, and heart-expanding connection…

And the women were up for the challenge (or was it play?) of a lifetime.

Thus, The Embodied Arts Retreat was born, and it is here that our story begins…

Monica Wiles

Interdisciplinary Artist, Writer, Facilitator, Clown

(they/she/he)

Monica Wiles is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and facilitator whose work lives at the crossroads of narrative, embodiment, and ethics. Trained in theatre performance, their artistic foundation is rooted in character building and storytelling, cultivating a deep attention to how stories are carried in the body and spoken into being. This sensibility continues to inform their work across poetry, short fiction, and experimental and experiential narrative forms. Monica also teaches and coaches public speaking, drawing on theatrical proficiencies to help professionals refine presence, voice, and delivery.

Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University, Monica’s academic work explores how stories function as sites of care, resistance, and meaning-making, particularly within contexts of trauma, illness, disability, LGBTQIA+ lived experience, and social justice. They are especially drawn to how metaphor, symbol, image, and repetition carry truth when linear or clinical language fails to capture the fullness of human experience.

Monica is a trained clown and devises, performs, and self-directs original work that often explores grief, self-discovery, and surreal or absurdist forms of escape and survival. Their creative practice centers truth in its layered complexity, honoring both beauty and mess. Monica will be leading a Creative Writing workshop and a Clowning workshop.

Juliette, originally from the French Alps, is a multi-dimensional artist, continuously exploring the edges of her reality to discover new depths of expression. She is a dedicated visual creator, passionate body mover, and devoted facilitator.

As a circus artist, her main discipline is aerial silks but she complements her work with fire dancing, acro dance, partner acrobatics and hand balancing. She is in continual refinement of her craft, finding ways for her movement to integrate deeper within her body, mind and soul everyday. She loves sharing these practices with others, inviting them to find more freedom and play within their own being and expression.

As a photographer, her artwork is inspired by the places she explores and the fascinating characters she encounters. Dramatic mountains, roaring oceans, dry deserts, or urban jungles where creative weirdos unapologetically speak their truth. During her photoshoots, she holds a safe, open and grounded space for oneself to explore their expression and be witnessed.

As she weaves in colors and dances, Juliette lets herself be guided by the present moment, inviting breath as her anchor and offering a curious heart. Juliette will be the photographer for the retreat, and will be leading a movement workshop and sharing a performance.
